Expedition to the Future – Day 2: Climbing Higher Before Going Deeper

Before descending into the depths of CERN to explore the mysteries of the universe, we decided to do the opposite — and go up.

Today, students from RTU International School of Science and Technology took on a new challenge: a hard but beautiful hike to the top of Mont Veyrier, near the town of Annecy in France.

The hike was long and steep. It tested our strength and teamwork. Step by step, we climbed through forests, rocky paths, and breathtaking views. There were moments when it was tough, but nobody gave up. Every student kept going — helping, laughing, and encouraging each other.

At the top, we stood together, looking over Lake Annecy and the French Alps. The view was more than just beautiful — it was a reward. It reminded us that every big goal starts with effort. Before we explore the world’s biggest collider, we had to feel the power of nature and our own minds and bodies.

Mens sana in corpore sano – a healthy mind in a healthy body – was the perfect message of the day.

Annecy showed us a different side of our trip — nature, peace, and the joy of being present. Crossing into France reminded us that this journey has no limits. Not in time. Not in countries. Not in dreams.

Tomorrow, we go deeper into science. But today, we went higher into ourselves.
